Guardian Records for the Heirs of Peter Ingold

Peter Ingold was born between 1774 and 1784 according to census records, but it was almost certainly before 1780. His wife's name was Barbara and they were married about 1798 since the household of Peter Ingold in the 1800 census seems to include his wife and two young daughters. Peter died before 11/20/1820 when George Coble was appointed as the administrator of his estate.

The following 34 pages are from "Estate Papers, Guilford Co, NC (1778-1942)" which are available on microfilm and from the State Archives. There is apparently no official order for these loose pages so I have done my best to present them in chronological order.

The records indicate that beginning in 1832, Joel took over the role from his mother as guardian of his younger siblings. Also worth noting is that daughter Philipeny is no longer listed beginning in 1829; and daughter Margaret (Peggy) is no longer listed beginning in 1830.
